Brooks’ CLinic Must-haves.

First off, welcome to clinic!

You are soon-to-be or currently serving as a chiropractic intern to people who need the care you provide.

Now, y’all know I consider myself your chiropractic big sister. Which is why I’ve created this list; it’s highly requested by each of you AND contains input from fellow interns!

Disclaimer: this is my opinion and none of this is 100% necessary. However, I have found having these items has made my clinical experience a great one!

Almost every item contains a direct link. Thank you for shopping through them if you choose to!

Without further ado…here are my must-haves for clinic:

  1. A good attitude: there’s no link for this one! ;)

  2. Clinic Bag: this one comes in many colors, is super roomy for all the things you need, and very durable!

  3. Planner: Here’s mine. I would suggest one with an hourly breakdown to each day!

  4. Comfy Shoes: I love these because they don’t have backs on them, so no blisters! I was definitely influenced by my friends!

  5. Business casual: Here are my favorites all in one place. And keep an eye out, because these brands are always running sales!

  6. Black pens: PERIOD.

  7. Organizers: I love having mini bags to separate different tools in. Mine are sold out, but here are some that are similar! For example, I have one with a stethescope, pulse oximeter, and blood pressure cuffs. I have another with my neurological sensory testing tools, reflex hammer, inclinometers, and goniometers. The last one I use for my personal items!

  8. Speaking of personal items…here’s what I always have on hand!

    1. including THIS hand sanitizer!

    2. and these oils: Stress Away and Peppermint

    3. Scrunchies: long hair peeps… you’re going to want one on hand so you can keep your hair back while adjusting! And it helps if it matches your outfit.

  9. Gown: having one of your own, and keeping it well-washed is a life saver if you need it for either a new patient or soft tissue work.

  10. Custom Stamp: truth be told, I don’t have one of these…but if I would’ve known about it from the beginning, I would’ve purchased! Customize it with your first and last name and your intern ID number to easily make your mark on the many documents you’ll be signing otherwise.

A few other honorable mentions from myself and the chiropractic community on Insta:

  • Activator: here’s the one I have!

  • thuli board

  • a system to organize and track your credits

    • Lean on your friends who are excel wizards.

  • Resistance band: having physical therapy tools on hand saves you time. For certain therapies such as ultrasound, muscle stimulation, graston, etc…you have to check them out at the PT counter for each patient.

  • Lotion: This is the one I use! Ultimately, I recommend something on the natural side with minimal-to-no fragrance.

  • Pregnancy Pillows

  • I’ve Got Your Back pin

  • humility and grace!!!
